JAMESON
PUB
FRIESENPLATZ
Music brings people together, it always has. And Irish pubs, which seem to exist in every city in the world, are homely per se. The combination of music and cosy Guinness drinking is on offer every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Jameson Distillery Pub on Friesenstraße: at karaoke night, anyone can take to the stage, whether they're from Cologne, an expat or a tourist. Most of the bartenders only speak English, and the menu includes Guinness and chips as well as Irish classics like cottage pie and fish'n'chips. And if you're not so keen on karaoke, you might find your pleasure on Mondays at the Jameson, where the pub quiz takes place every week.
MUSEUM
ZULPICHER PLATZ
If you're looking for a fun night out with friends and you don't know what to do and where to go - this is your place! MUSEUM is a bar that has karaoke most nights and will be a guaranteed fun night! Even if you don't want to sing, you can enjoy all the others on the stage while having some drinks and singing along. SO MUCH FUN!
MUSEUM is located right in the middle of a ton of bars, kiosks, clubs, and restaurants. You can just look around and see what fits best for you. Check inside MUSEUM between 10 and 12 so you don't miss the beginning of karaoke.
ZAPPES
ROONSTRAßE
Every now and then, there are those moments at the kiosk when you just don't feel like a drinkable Kölsch anymore, but rather crave a tart Pils. The same thing happened to Maxi and Nico, who realized in 2020 that there simply weren't enough tasty Pils in the Kölner Büdchen. A few beers later, they were firmly convinced that they would revolutionize the beer market and make it more colorful. The Cologne Pilsner Zappes is now available at around 30 outlets in Cologne, the majority of which are kiosks. At Zappes you can get Kölsch Pils and Prosecco from the tap.
Zappes is also a friend of ESN Köln and has a variety of social and sports events. Stay tuned to meet them alongside us.
DAS SCHEUE REH
HANS BÖCKLER PLATZ
Das scheue Reh is a café-bar in the Belgian Quarter. For over 10 years they have been enriching with concerts, readings, plays, visuals, DJs, and live acts. You can find good drinks, excellent wines, a large selection of gin and whisky over there.
In summary, a good recipe for a successful evening.
DIE WOHNGEMEINSCHAFT
RICHARD-WAGNER
The Wohngemeinschaft is a hostel for a unique living experience in Cologne’s creative and vibrant scene, the Belgian Quarter, but also a CaféBar, furnished in the style of an urban flat of four fictional roommates. In addition to the four rooms, which reflect the style of each resident, the large bar in the middle represents the flats’ kitchen. The cozy living room, with its furniture from the 50s and 60s, has a broad window front to watch the hustle of the Belgian Quarter.
In addition to the four rooms, which reflect the style of each resident, the large bar in the middle represents the flats’ kitchen.
In the evening the Wohngemeinschaft transforms into a bar. It is the melting pot for international guests, creatives, Cologne’s night owls, and day dreamers.
